May the Fourth be with you.......

For the past two winter studies I’ve taught a course on the Mathematics of LEGO bricks, with a goal of assembling a team to assemble the 3152 piece Superstar destroyer  in under 10 minutes (we just missed by a few seconds the first year, and did it in under 9 in the second). This left us with a large number of ships on campus. For the fourth of July parade the fleet reassembled from all corners of the college to my campus, and then carried by myself and Randy Fippinger of the ’62 Center, Gabe Staton and Sam Alterman (representing the two classes), Sarah Manski (representing the SMALL summer research program); my two kids Cameron and Kayla assisted with lego American flags made at an earlier event on Spring Street. Special thanks to OIT for providing a boom box for us to play the Imperial March. Video (from Frank Morgan) of parade: https://youtu.be/sf6seWcpYq8.
