The Association for Women in Mathematics has made the documentary film Secrets of the Surface: The Mathematical Vision of Maryam Mirzakhani available to everyone for streaming between Wednesday, 4/28, and Friday, 4/30. The movie goes through Maryam Mirzakhani’s life and mathematical work. Mirzakhani immigrated to the US from Iran and in 2014 became the first Iranian and the first woman to be awarded the Fields Medal, the most honorable prize in mathematics.
